interpack Presentation of Anniversary Book Proves very popular:
„Inventors. Doers. World Market Leaders. 150 Years
of Packaging Machinery in Southwest Germany“ officially presented.

A project of about one and a half years has come to a worthy conclusion: the anniversary book „Inventors. Doers. World Market Leaders. 150 Years of Packaging Machinery in Southwest Germany“ was presented to the public during a presentation event at interpack Düsseldorf on May 13th. The chronicle was released in the German and English languages.


It was a full house as moderator Barbara Lehner welcomed personalities from politics and the packaging machine industry, as well as collaborators on the book project, on the podium. Following a witty address by Hans Werner Reinhard, as Dep. CEO of Messe Düsseldorf the host of the event, the occasion, background and origin of the book project were retold in individual panel discussions.

Dr. Inge Gräßle, Member of the European Parliament for Baden-Württemberg, Bernd Hansen, CEO of rommelag / kocher-plastik and Chairman of Packaging Valley Germany e.V., as well as Andreas Hesky, Mayor of the City of Waiblingen and Chairman of Packaging Excellence Center (PEC) got things started. Through individual interviews with Barbara Lehner, they provided information about the founding ideas and the economic-political significance of the two industry clusters, Packaging Valley Germany e.V. and Packaging Excellence Center (PEC), upon whose member companies and business stories the book focuses.

Hans Bühler, Managing Shareholder of OPTIMA packaging group GmbH and Dep. Chairman of Packaging Valley Germany e.V., and Claus Paal, Member of State Assembly of Baden-Württemberg and Dep. Chairman of Packaging Excellence Center (PEC) then addressed the topics of „Committee work & making of“. Prof. Dr. Bernd Wilke, Director Engineering & Technology Support at Packaging Technology Division of Robert Bosch GmbH, and book project leader Bernd Sautter, CEO of the marketing agency Karius & Partners, and author Peter Tognotti, Creative Director at Karius & Partners, reviewed the origin story of the 300-page book.

Finally, in the last round, moderator Barbara Lehner elicited first-hand predictions for the fur-ture development of the industry from conversation partners Prof. Dr. Bernd Wilke and Hans Bühler. The representatives of the two largest single companies, Bosch and OPTIMA, presented a thoroughly optimistic view of the future prospects of the industry in general, as well as of the two clusters in particular.
